Creek rounds up T'Wolves

MITCH Creek, who South East Melbourne Phoenix fans still are hoping might be on their NBL roster in 2019-20, did his NBA ambitions no harm today with a quality Summer League showing.

The former Adelaide 36ers captain and 2018 Sixers MVP compiled an imposing final stats line of 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-4 threes, with four rebounds and three steals as he paced Minnesota Timberwolves to a 100-91 over Milwaukee Bucks.

With scores tied in Las Vegas going into the final four minutes, Creek was instrumental in the T'Wolves powering home, fellow Boomers' World Cup squad man Jock Landale pairing 12 points with eight rebounds for the Bucks.

Creek had nine of his points in the fourth quarter.

"We were up for most of the game by nearly 20 points," Creek said in a post-match interview for NBL Overtime.

"We played great defensively, but for me to get out there to knock down some shots, to make some big plays, and to help the guys on and off the court was obviously a big bonus for me as well."
