WNBL TotW6: Three thrillers, three killers
OVERTIME again, three games decided by a single basket and three others by a total of 85 points, it sure was a fascinating Round 6 of the WNBL and another one where selecting our Team of the Week was no picnic. Sydney winning twice was meritorious but both times by two points suggested the Flames just as easily could have come home 0-2.
Aussie pair shine, closing NBL round
ROUND 10 of NBL 2023-24 concluded yesterday with a "day out" for two outstanding Australian stars, first Chris Goulding in unstoppable fashion setting up Melbourne's rout of Brisbane, then Mitch Creek leading a depleted South East Melbourne into Sydney and dethroning the Kings.
WNBL Wrap6: High Octane, High Octane, High Octane
PLEASE WNBL television commentators. Enough with the use of "high octane" as a descriptive term - five times in the first half of the Perth-Melbourne rematch, countless times through Round 6. If you're a friend of a TV caller please buy she or he a thesauras for Christmas. (OK, a copy of "A Type of Life" or "Patty Mills: Beyond Basketball" also would be an acceptable gift.)
