Another Randall maul for Adelaide
Tweet
NOT so long ago, it was Jerome Randle and Adelaide parting company and now Craig Randall II has left the 36ers by "mutual consent." It must just be a "Randall" thing but don't be in any doubt the Sixers will reach out to Sydney Kings championship playmaker Jaylen Adams.
The NBL's reigning MVP has just become available and while he has already been quoted as loving the Kings etcetera, there was a time Jerome Randle said he loved then-36ers coach Joey Wright and Adelaide was where he wanted to be.
Then he was signed by Sydney.
Money talks, and especially so for pro athletes whose elite earning capacity years are limited.
The problem with Adelaide's pursuit of Adams is the line forms over there, behind Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
At least the club has given itself a chance to bring in a fresh body during the FIBA World Cup Qualifying window this weekend while the Boomers are away in Kazakhstan.
Interest in Randall has been strong since he scored 35 points in the 36ers' shock 134-124 win over the Phoenix Suns in the preseason NBA-NBL series.
But the NBA seems well aware of his potential downside which appears to be an inability to fit in with a group.
Issues he had with the 36ers coaches and teammates regularly were apparent, with Randall inevitably always the common denominator.
He was averaging 20.3ppg at 48 per cent, sticking the threeball at 40 per cent..jpg)
