BOTH podcast colleague Brad Rosen and I agree Southside officially will wrap up fourth place in the WNBL playoffs against Canberra, we wonder if Bendigo has finally hit the wall, and discuss what's happening in the NBL since the round started with an overblown incident in the Brisbane-Adelaide clash.

Ladies first as always and we both were impressed with how Geelong went about dismantling defending champion Bendigo, then putting Sydney to the sword. How good might the Venom have been if their season wasn't sabotaged by a raft of injuries?

Has the loss of Marianna Tolo and Casey Samuels from last year's champion finally caught up with Bendigo? We've been predicting it for weeks and the Spirit have shown just that - great spirit to maintain their place near the pinnacle.

But the second half fade-out against rampaging Perth exposed some concerns and it now looks as if Bendigo will be finishing third and facing the semi final series against those self-same Lynx.

Oh, and we're still agreed Isobel Borlase will win the MVP. 

Brad and I picked the same "Play of the Round" but different players for the individual stand-out, albeit from the same club!

And how about Jack McVeigh going 17-of-17 from the stripe in his 40-point return for Cairns against Tasmania? Majok Deng, who had an outstanding game for the JackJumpers, had a last shot for the win but it was the Taipans who prevailed.

Ahead of Sydney by 24, they then lost by 14 to the Kings in a massive turnaround orchestrated by Kendric Davis.

Perth Wildcats enjoyed a great round with a home win over in-form South East Melbourne, then eliminated Illawarra in Wollongong, Kristian Doolittle at his best.

Who didn't love the Tasmania-New Zealand thriller and there was considerable speculation about the goings on in Adelaide after the 36ers succumbed at home to the Phoenix by 20.
