WHAT a fabulous start the WNBL shot off to as all four Round 1 games were claimed by road warriors, there were great turn-outs for the matches and meanwhile the NBL was setting records, as Brad Rosen and I discuss at this week's Brad&Boti podcast. 

Bryce Cotton's 53 points against Cairns is the highest individual score by an Adelaide 36er, topping the 48 shot by the late Iceman, Darryl Pearce way back in 1988, during the 48-minute era.

New Zealand had just two turnovers in its win over Tasmania, the lowest number in that category over the 43 years since the stat was first recorded.

But how about the WNBL's tip-off?

Canberra got the job done in Melbourne over Southside, with my MVP favourite Sara Blicavs - I see Lauren Jackson has jumped on that bandwagon now - playing an exceptional game.

How about Lauren Nicholson for Sydney in Geelong where she dominated with a match-winning 20-point first half? 

Abbey Ellis going for 31 points, 10 boards and four assists as Townsville beat defending champion Bendigo was another huge stand-out performance.

And that was before former Lightning star and Adelaide-born Alex Ciabattoni led Perth to victory in front of the biggest opening night crowd in Lightning's long history.
