Brad&Boti: Isaac, the WNBL tip off, NBL wrap and more
TweetLOOKS like it's big news week as Brad Rosen and I discuss Isaac Humphries retiring from NBL action and give a serious in-depth look at the (mostly) thrilling results from the WNBL's opening round in a Brad&Boti podcast that isn't for the faint-of-heart!
Of course we also review the best of the NBL action but wow, what a round it was for the gals to tip off the 2026-27 season.
Apart from Sydney smacking Adelaide, all the other matches were cut-throat affairs and yes, that also was the case with the debutante Tasmania Jewels, despite their inaugural win at a sold-out MyState Bank Arena in Hobart being by 13 points over Geelong, it also only blew out late.

The Jewels were exceptional and flew out of the blocks, but the Venom reeled them in and were making a game of it before that rush of adrenalin, driven by a raucous home supporter, base made all the difference.
Sam Mackinnon had his Fledgling Flyers playing like veterans as they took the game right up to the Flames before a Lauren Nicholson master class in ruthless execution did them in.
Canberra surprised Bendigo which needed to come from a long way back to turn this into the gripping contest it became. Brad and I have some definite thoughts on how that endgame could have played out and also where Amy Atwell needs to focus to take the next step in her career.
How good was Perth and our new favourite player Georgia Amoore, not to mention the old faithful Alex Ciabattoni?
We select our WNBL Final Fives, and give our respective Player and Play of the Round before turning our attention to a terrific NBL series.
How badly do the United need Chris Goulding back in uniform? Brad does not like the body language, this is a team with several alpha males ... can they get it together and fulfill the destiny this team shows it could have on paper?
What happened to Cairns at South East Melbourne and just how did this round's results impact our Top Six predictions?
Yes, there's a Player and a Play of the Round for both of us, not to mention a Rosen Rattler and a Nagy Nasty ... although, if I'm not mistake, I did just mention them.
