Brad&Boti: Sami, Bryce have the MVPs wrapped

ARE Bendigo's Sami Whitcomb and Perth's Bryce Cotton locks for the WNBL and NBL Most Valuable Player awards this season? How will the final round of the NBL regular season and the penultimate WNBL round conclude? Brad Rosen and I take a deep dive in this week's Brad&Boti podcast, available now.

We revisit the recent losses to our sport of trailblazing previous era stars Rick Longley and Alan Hughes, before tackling the shining new star of Sydney Flames' Shaniece Swain.

Can Adelaide Lightning make the latest of late runs and hurdle their way into the WNBL Final Four?

It cannot be ruled out but Canberra and Sydney have the front-running with their clash this round - after a classic overtime road win by the Flames last week in Canberra when the home team blew it in regulation - again pivotal.

But whichever team does sneak into fourth, will they even push regular season champion Bendigo to a deciding third game in the semi finals?

Unlikely.

Still, this third and final meeting of these two clubs should still be a cracker.

Perth and Townsville battle it out next round before then contesting a best-of-three semi final, potentially making it four games in a row before facing the Spirit for the championship.

And Whitcomb surely is untouchable for the MVP. Has Southside under-achieved?

To the NBL and we dissect why we have confidence in certain teams as contenders, and also why we have doubts about others.

Conservative estimate, has 500-game player Jesse Wagstaff taken 1,000 charges in his career?

Brad fires a bunch of rapid "first response" questions regarding MVP, Best Sixth Man, Most Improved, Best Defensive and All Star Five and even Kylie Minogue enters the equation.

We're still spinning around but no, she's not attending a United match in Melbourne with sister Danni.

Where will Parker Jackson-Cartwright land next?

Where will Kendric Davis be next season?

Where will Bryce Cotton be?

We cover it all and there's still our Plays and Players of the Week, a Rosen Rattler and a Nagy Nasty.

Cairns allowing Rob Edwards to leave early is a great decision by the Taipans, building a smart bond.
