Grass is Greenwood in Perth
TweetIN case you missed it, talented Tasmanian guard Hugh Greenwood officially has signed with Perth Wildcats.
While the door isn't shut on greener pastures - who wouldn't love to see him alongside Dante Exum and Joe Ingles at the NBA's Utah Jazz? - his NBL home is now assured, giving the Wildcats extra punch behind its backcourt duo Damian Martin and Jermaine Beal.
It also makes the club's release of Drake U'u and Earnest Ross much easier to understand.
At University of New Mexico - yes, Luc Longley's alma mater - Greenwood, 23 and 190cm, averaged 11.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks per game in 2014-15.
He won Defensive Player of the Year honours - which should suit the Wildcats - and was joint MVP for the Lobos.
No sooner does the NBL lose someone such as a Daryl Corletto, as it picks up a Greenwood, suggesting again, the on-court quality in 2015-16 should be as good as ever.
