ICYMI: You know, stuff you might've missed

ICYMI: Aron Baynes has switched from San Antonio Spurs to Detroit Pistons, LaMarcus Aldridge has left the Trail Blazers for the Spurs and several NBL clubs have confirmed signings – many of which you already knew about.

But just in case you didn’t, A.J. Ogilvy has joined Oscar Forman, Rhys Martin and Tyson Demos at Illawarra, with more core player retentions expected soon, along with Kevin Lisch (Hawks claws crossed).

CAPTAIN IS BACK:  Oscar Forman returns to Hawks. Can Tim Coenraad be far behind?

Chris Goulding has been confirmed at Melbourne United and Josh Childress is back for Sydney.

It’s been a good week for the NBL although the strong word regarding television broadcast rights for 2015-16 suggest those of you without Foxtel subscriptions may need to jump aboard or renew.

Boomers 2014 World Cup sensation Ryan Broekhoff is suiting for Denver Nuggets in the NBA Summer League.

NBA championship-winner Baynes has agreed to terms with the Pistons for a three-year deal valued at $US20million.

Baynes, 28 and 208cm, averaged a career-best 6.6 points and 4.5 rebounds with the Spurs in 2014-15.

It gives Australian NBA fans a further team to follow, with Andrew Bogut at champion Golden State, Patty Mills at San Antonio, Matthew Dellavedova (Cleveland), Dante Exum and Joe Ingles (Utah) and Cam Bairstow (Chicago).

For Spurs fans, securing Aldridge is a big deal, Tiago Splitter and Marco Bellinelli already headed out and the Blazer star joining reportedly for four years on a maximum contract worth more than $80million.

“I'm happy to say I'm going home to Texas and will be a Spur!! I'm excited to join the team and be close to my family and friends” Aldridge tweeted.

Meanwhile in Cairns, radio host Nick Gibson appears to have been right on the ball on June 20 when he first told listeners of his 90.9FM sports show that Gordie McLeod was a likely candidate to join Taipans head coach Aaron Fearne as an assistant.
