Just FYI, Chillin' and the heat

SYDNEY Kings finally can bid adieu to fill-in import Damion James this week, with Josh Childress returning to the lineup to face United at Olympic Park.

So it's goodbye to this...

And welcome back to this...

JChillin' is back after missing five games with a hand fracture and will make his Olympic Park debut tomorrow night.

After the Kings lost to New Zealand there last week, Childress tweeted: "Although we didn't win yesterday, I will go on record to say the atmosphere in the new venue is better!"

While The Chill will be back for the Kings, the heat will be back on for the WNBL's MAC Adelaide Lightning when they host reigning champion Townsville Fire on Saturday.

So once again, they will vacate their current home "The Lighthouse" at Wayville for the comforts of the air-conditioned Titanium Security Arena.

CAIRNS heads into its New Year's Eve Grand Final rematch with New Zealand minus playmaking import Markel Starks (hamstring).

Early reports have the Taipans placing him on injury waivers and bringing in QBL MVP Jeremy Kendle, the 188cm Toowoomba Mountaineers import who played his college ball at Bellarmine University.

Hurt on December 17, Cairns originally had hoped Starks might be back for NYE but he is more of a shot at the Taipans' January 6 match with Perth.

Highly-regarded Kendle already has signed with Bendigo Braves for the 2016 SEABL season.
