Neto is neato but Jackies ignite and swarm

BRISBANE's injury replacement import PG Raul Neto made a very promising debut against Tasmania in their Ignite Cup showdown last night in Hobart, but the twin absences of pivots Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt made the task of holding off the swarming JackJumpers next to impossible.
Mitch Norton and Neto battled away for the Bullets but the interior presence of Josh Bannan (22 points at 62 per cent, 9 rebounds, 5 assists), Will Magnay (12 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals) and Ben Gold (8 points at 67 per cent) proved overwhelming for Harry Rouhliadeff and Archie Woodhill.
Add the fact quality shooters Dakota Mathias (16 points, 3-of-6 threes, 6 assists) and David Johnson (17 points, 3-of-5 threes) were on song and it was only the Bullets' tenacity which kept the game from blowing out far further than it should have.
The Jackies won every quarter to sweep all 7 Ignite Cup points but Brisbane could take heart in Neto's form and the return of Taine Murray.
Neto cobbled together 9 points on 4-of-4 shooting and six assists in just 13:46 of action which, considering he was barely off the plane, spoke highly of what is to come.
He didn't have an easy moment either, Taran Armstrong (19 points on 8-of-11 shooting, 6 assists, 2 steals) hustling and harassing him.
Tassie also drew a better offensive return from Nick Marshall (3-of-5 threes) as Brisbane also had to combat early foul woes for Nate Hinton.
Max Mackinnon was the Bullets spearhead once more, his 21 points including 4-of-8 triples in a lost cause.
