Brad&Boti: Phoenix rise after Mike drop

WOW. How often have we seen it over the ages? A club sacks the coach of an under-performing team and the very next game, an interim coach takes the same players to a memorable win? That happened in the NBL last week and podcast partner Brad Rosen and I tackle this at our Brad&Boti pod.

South East Melbourne, with Mike Kelly's name barely removed from the coach's office door, took on the in-form Melbourne United and left them languishing.

There was plenty left to be said though, with officials of both clubs buying into the in-game antics of United's Chris Goulding after his clash with Phoenix pivot Jordan Hunter.

So the big question - should the Phoenix have stuck with interim Sam Mackinnon or made the move they have in signing Josh King as their new coach from the Turkish Super League?

Time will tell, of course. in the meantime, Brad and I got down to our latest "Top Six" updates, based on form over the season so far.

And are we worried for Perth without Bryce Cotton? And just what is the current playing status of NZ Breakers off-season signing Mitch McCarron?

It's all here, plus so much less. What was your Play of the Week? We were united on this one, sort of. But our Players of the Week were vastly different.

There's a Rosen Rattler and a Nagy Nasty, we preview this week's NBL round and we even have a quick look at the WNBA Final where Australia's own Sandy Brondello, coaching New York, prevailed by beating Alanna Smith's Minnesota Lynx.

They went to overtime. In Game 5. Can it get much tighter?

For all this and some other stuff too, hit this link. Or if you don't care for such simple pleasures, find the pod at Apple or Spotify. And let's not forget this, below!
