Time out-NO FLOP ZONE: Kings cooked, King's error and King James

JOEY Wright and I were equally bemused as the NBL playoffs tipped off in Perth, before we turned our attention to Xavier Cooks, Jason Cadee, LeBron James and a holy host of other basketball-related issues at this week's Time Out-NO FLOP ZONE podcast.

We discussed the NBL Play-In Tournament, including why it’s even called a "play-in" and whether the format works. I was impressed with John Rillie's coaching in Perth's win over South East Melbourne, and Joey breaks down Josh King’s in-game coaching glitches.

The episode also looks at some controversial umpiring decisions in the Perth-SEM Phoenix game, Owen Foxwell’s no-calls and struggles without Derrick Walton and Ben Ayre, and Vaughan Mayberry winning Umpire of the Year.

Plus we discusses the lack of crowd support at Perth's playoff game.

In other news, Jason Cadee has officially announced his retirement, and we react to the latest NBL Award winners and the situation in which Xavier Cooks and Sydney now find themselves.

Viewer topics include the possibility of NBL and WNBL double-headers, whether Patty Mills or Joe Ingles could buy an NBL team, and potential Boomers head coaches.

We also debate if owners and managers deserve more blame than coaches and players when teams underperform and whether an AIS Under-25 team would work in the NBL.

Finally, we wrap up with NBA talk, covering Anthony Davis’ latest injury, LeBron James complaining about a non-existent foul, and previewing Adelaide v Sydney and who will face SEM Phoenix on Sunday.

This episode is packed with insights, debates, and hot takes — don’t miss it! To go to it right now and avoid looking for it on Spotify, Apple or Amazon Music, just click the link below!
