TOTW Rd2: Did you get the number of that truck?

DID you get the number of that truck? NBL Round 2 hit like a Mack truck, with so many memorable games and a few physical confrontations as well, not to mention that epic double-overtime sizzler out West.

Some rounds are much easier for selecting a Team of the Week than others, but this wasn't one of those.

Let's start at the close and how terrific was the Perth-Brisbane showdown in Perth? Overtime. Double overtime. A late shot to win it. While it takes most teams 40 minutes to win a game, it now has taken the Bullets 95 minutes to claim a game but it sure was worth watching every single one of those minutes.

It put the Bullets right into the running for Team of the Week because winning in Perth is a challenge in itself.

Before that, Adelaide had Dustry Hannahs hit two big late shots to see off Tasmania, then another big game as the 36ers came from 19 down to beat New Zealand by 13, taking their record to 2-2.

That put them in the picture, a picture Illawarra refuses to leave, the Hawks again winning on the road for their 2-0 start.

But our Team of the Week this round had to go to South East Melbourne after the Phoenix saw off challenges from New Zealand Breakers and defending champion Melbourne United in two colossal contests.

(Apologies Cairns fans but scoring 69 points and only six in the second quarter, with 21 turnovers in the win over Tasmania may have eased the pressure up north but it wasn't TOTW material.)
