THE WNBL's Townsville Tip-Off preseason event has continued with little to be drawn from team performances by depleted and incomplete lineups, but plenty of outstanding individual games from players as diverse as Jaz Shelley, Maddi Rocci, Casey Samuels, Mia Jacobs and Elissa Brett.

Jacobs sparkled among the new faces of Tasmania's Jewels, with a 28-point haul that included 6-of-9 threes as the WNBL's newest club saw off Adelaide 72-70.

Brett, back in SA from a stint with Geelong, delivered a team-high 19 points in the loss, then backed that up with 24 in Lightning's defeat to Bendigo.

That's at least one good recruit for Adelaide.

The Spirit were paced by Samuels who constructed the year's first triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Wearing new colours at Geelong, Rocci helped the Venom to a 90-86 win over Canberra, her 31 points bolstered by 5-of-8 threes.

And ex-Geelong star Shelley, suiting for Sydney, matched Abbey Ellis' opening night 34-point cache with 34 of her own, the tally including 8-of-12 long bombs as the Flames torched Tasmania.

In the same outing, Anges Emma-Nnopu compiled 10 points, 10 boards and six assists for Sydney.
