B&B: We're back, with Opals, Patty and much more

WE'RE back! Well, compatriot Brad Rosen is back from his overseas family holiday and we had so much to catch up on for our return Brad&Boti podcast. The Opals team has been selected and there was one shock omission. But Lauren is back! The G.O.A.T. returns for the World Cup, Aron Baynes is playing NBL, we cover it all.

Lauren Jackson back in the green-and-gold at 41! A single mum of two young boys, over her chronic injuries and she has worked her way back into the Opals and in not only a FIBA World Cup year but one taking place on home soil.

What an amazing story and comeback. But why shouldn't we expect that of Australia's greatest player?

Sandy Brondello has selected a deep team which we examine in some detail, including the unlucky omissions of Tokyo Olympian and 2018 FIBA World Cup Silver Medallist Alanna Smith, up-and-coming Jade Melbourne and PG Maddi Rocci.

That last cut from the squad of 15 to the TEAM of 12 - cannot understand why some pundits are calling this final 12 a "squad" still ... it's the TEAM - was the toughest for the Opals but this team looks very capable of restoring Australia's international fortunes.

Their Group B is a tough one, with Canada, France, Japan and Serbia ALL ranked in FIBA's Top 10. Mali is the other qualifier in the group.

The arrival of NBA champion and multiple Olympian Aron Baynes in the NBL with Brisbane is sure to bolster the league and change perceptions of how the Bullets can fare in 2022-23.

There have been some other surprise moves and Brad also is very taken with and complimentary of my new book, "Patty Mills: Beyond Basketball".
