Brad&Boti: NBL7 and WNBL 2 Under Microscope

HAVE Melbourne United, Sydney Kings and Tasmania JackJumpers separated themselves from the NBL pack and have Melbourne Boomers emerged as the surprise WNBL title favourite? Brad Rosen and I had a lot of thinking to do for this week's Brad&Boti podcast after the weekend's results.

Already stationed at Qudos Bank Arena for his TV call of the NBL match between the Kings and Brisbane Bullets, Brad was dazzled by the Boomers as they ran away from the Sydney Flames in the earlier WNBL fixture.

And if you listen carefully, you may even hear the former Kings captain and dyed-in-the-wool Sydneysider mention that the Boomers are now his new favourite WNBL team!

So much for his hometown Flames or his other great love, the Southside Flyers who we also talk about in one of our more in-depth looks at the last round's goings on.

There's plenty to discuss on the NBL front too, despite only five matches in Round 7, but what did they tell us about Melbourne and Sydney?

And what did they also tell us about Illawarra and Adelaide?

Or for that matter, New Zealand after the horrible way it bungled any shot at stopping Bryce Cotton and the Perth Wildcats.

Are the Wildcats for real or do we need to see more of the same from them this round against Cairns? And will the Taipans even be a fair gauge if Patrick Miller and Bobi Klintman are still out?

How amazing was Chris Goulding's 3-point heartbreaker that set United on the home stretch for a win over South East that few would have predicted?

Or Jordin Canada's performance for the Boomers in compiling 20 points and 13 assists in their key WNBL road win in Sydney?

There was a lot to unpack, not to mention more Rosen Rattlers and Nagy Nasties than you could shake a clipboard at.

Tune in now by clicking on this link, or hit up Apple Podcasts if that's where you get your poddy fixes.
