THE annual Australian Club Championship brought together the leading 24 teams in the nation to fight it out for the sport's most coveted club crown.
The men had a "National Invitation Tournament" in the 60s, even prior to the ACC's decade-long run from 1970-79.
And while the women's ACC ran longer, it is easy now to become confused, considering (at times) the hosts called it the Australian National Invitation Tournament instead of the Australian Club Championship.
This is the program from the first of those times, when the ACC was launched in Melbourne in 1974 but as the NIT to have a point of difference from the men. At least, initially.
Again you will find some of our sport's greatest names.
