Laura, Drewey for FT Lunch

AUSTRALIAN basketball superstars Andrew Gaze and Laura Hodges headline the guest list for the Adelaide-based Free Throw Foundation charity's major lunch next month.

A five-time Olympian (1984-88-92-96-2000) and a four-time FIBA World Championship (1986-90-94-98) Boomer, Gaze also is a seven-time NBL MVP and dual-championship winner.

As a four-time Olympian, Hodges is in elite Olympic company with only Sandy Brondello, Lauren Jackson and Kristi Harrower attending four Games.

She also broke into the Opals for the 2002 FIBA Worlds, was part of Australia's 2006 Gold Medal winning world champion and was back for the 2014 Worlds.

OLYMPIC GREATS: Andrew Gaze and Laura Hodges, guest speakers for the Free Throw Foundation.

The Free Throw Foundation initially was originated by NBL, SEABL and Premier League championship-winning guard David Spear to assist financially embattled young South Australian basketballers.

The FTF's regular lunches have attracted basketball identities such as Luc Longley, Ken Cole, Andrej Lemanis, Brendan Joyce, Anthony Moore, Joe Ingles and Brad Newley as keynote speakers.

The Gaze-Hodges union represents basketball royalty and the opportunity to hear these legends of the game speak about all matters NBL, WNBL, Boomers, Opals and Olympics.

The lunch will be at Arkaba Hotel, Glen Osmond Rd at Fullarton on Friday, May 26, from 12 until 2pm.

(Although, just like Melbourne's annual Pete's Bar lunch, this can kick on for several hours/days...)

The cost of just $50 includes a $15 donation towards the Free Throw Foundation, with table bookings of 10 available and separate tickets now also on sale.

Contact David Spear at david.spear@vuca.com.au or on 0408404910 to make your bookings now.

Get along and support the Foundation that supports basketball in South Australia.
