Luc on Luc - at long last

LUC LONGLEY is a master storyteller - as anyone and everyone in the Australian men's program will attest. But what stories he has to tell too, as a teammate of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Co in the great Chicago Bulls' NBA dynasty. At long last, fans of the three-time NBA champion have the chance to hear those stories.

In October, Luc will tour around Australia and recount the adventures of Australia's first truly successful NBA player.

A multiple Boomers Olympian and eventually an assistant coach with the national men's team, Luc in his playing heyday ran with the Bulls of Jordan, Pippen, Ron Harper, Dennis Rodman, Toni Kukoc and Steve Kerr, to name just the main men.

Phil Jackson recruited him from the Minnesota Timberwolves because he felt he needed a very specific 7-foot centre who could pass the ball and brought a high basketball IQ.

Luc Longley fit the bill and he was the starting centre and lynchpin of the Bulls' second threepeat, ending with the "Last Dance" season recently featured in a documentary series on Netflix, then Fox.

On Friday, October 7, Luc will be speaking at Wrest Point Casino in Hobart. On Sunday, October 9 he will be in Melbourne, two nights later in Bendigo and on Wednesday, October 12 in Sydney.

Then it's cross-country home to Western Australia where he will appear in Perth on Saturday, October 15.
