THE successful return to Canberra of reigning league MVP Kelsey Griffin highlighted Round 15 of the WNBL, teammate Kia Nurse putting her hand up for our Player of the Week consideration.

In the catchup game against Perth, Nurse had 20 points and five assists, although she shot it at a less-than-stellar 8-of-23, in the 89-75 win.

Caps teammate Marianna Tolo put up impressive numbers over the Lynx, her 22 points at 73 per cent, plus nine rebounds, three assists and a couple of blocks.

In the 82-66 win over Sydney, Nurse led the way with 25 points at 45 per cent, with 4-of-7 threes.

Perth pair Marena Whittle and Katie-Rae Ebzery also had their moments in Round 15. Whittle had 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 4-of-6 threes in Canberra, then backed up in the 89-66 rout of the Spirit in Bendigo with another 18 points on 7-of-13 and yep, 4-of-6 threes.

Ebzery knocked down 28 points at 52 per cent in the win over Bendigo - 4-of-6 threes for KRE too - which followed a 16-point return in Canberra.

But the big game of the round was between semi final-bound combatants Southside and Adelaide and the Flyers' Bec Cole was unstoppable. Cole had 20 in the first half to underpin the 81-69 victory, finishing with a season-high 28 at 58 per cent, with 2-of-4 threes, two rebounds, five assists and a steal.

Cole broke open the contest and set up the win, making her our unanimous choice here at Basketball On The Internet as WNBL Player of the Week.
