The Week That Was: Dec.29-Jan.5

YES it was another big week in the NBL and WNBL and with the Festive Season in full swing, it's easy to miss something important.

Just in case you may have, here's what we had this week at Basketball On The Internet.

Adelaide Lightning now have beaten two of the three teams ahead of them on the ladder and host the last of the trio - Melbourne - on Friday. This and more in the WNBL Round 12 Wrap.

Lightning captain Nicole Seekamp set a new WNBL single-game assists record in Adelaide's win over leader Southside, landing 20 passes on the money!

Sydney Kings sent Adelaide back to the whiteboard, Melbourne found touch against Illawarra and despite trying hard to lose, Cairns failed to do so against Brisbane, so far in NBL Round 14.

THE Lightning smashed Townsville, and Bendigo scored the season's biggest upset in Round 12 of WNBL action.

Our NBL and WNBL Round Tips and some bonus features were right here!

This week's NBL rankings were chaotic but the WNBL? No, notsomuch. Cairns and the Breakers are the men's form teams. And 'Guess the Player' is a toughie.

For the first time ever, our NBL Player of the Week's performances straddled two decades!

Illawarra closed 2019 with the year's biggest NBL upset - last beating first - while Cairns continued to show it is not just in the Final Four but in the championship hunt. All at the wrap.

Brad Rosen and I sank our teeth into some meaty topics to close the decade, such as mental health, WNBL MVP prospects, NBL Player of the Decade, Lightning coaching, United struggles, all at our weekly podcast.

The Lightning's Steph Talbot finished 2019 as our last WNBL Player of the Week. (And wisely, even the WNBL agreed, yet again.)
