Poddering around: Kia, WNBL, NBL, it's all here
CANBERRA has taken over as our WNBL championship favourite, we're still tipping a Sydney-Perth NBL Final and what is up with the Asia Cup? Brad Rosen and I sink our teeth into this and more at our weekly podcast.
WTF is FIBA and BA doing?
CORRECT me if I'm wrong but isn't the Tokyo Olympic Games the pinnacle for basketball in 2020? So what the hell is FIBA doing scheduling meaningless, costly and downright stupid "Asia Cup qualifying" games THIS WEEK?
The Week That Was: Feb.9-16
THIS has no doubt been one of the most dramatic weeks in basketball, with the Opals qualifying for Tokyo and Bryce Cotton and Kia Nurse claiming the NBL and WNBL's Most Valuable Player awards respectively.
Podding along: Go you Opals! But medalling?
BRAD Rosen and I took the gloves off this week to discuss all things Opals, NBL and WNBL playoffs and, frankly, it wasn't pretty. Brad has such horrible hands.
Opals pack their bags for Tokyo
AUSTRALIA this morning confirmed its place at this year's Tokyo Olympics when it staved off Brazil 86-72 but anyone confidently predicting a medal at the Games needs to settle down. This is a very tough field.
The Week That Was: Feb.2-9
YES, this has been a bonanza week with coaching decisions, NBL and WNBL action, the Opals in France and the Hall of Fame event in South Australia.
Opals back on track
THE Opals today re-energised their Tokyo Olympics campaign with an emphatic 100-74 rout of Puerto Rico in Bourges, France, to virtually ensure their qualification for the Games.
French bag it as Opals falter
AUSTRALIA's Opals may be ranked No.2 in the world by FIBA but today they simply were outclassed by France as the home team was roared to a 72-63 victory in their opening match of the final qualifiers in Bourges for the Tokyo Olympics.
Podding along: Keely, NZ, it's all here
BRAD Rosen and I go at it, talking NBL, WNBL and even a bit of Opals away in France for the Tokyo Olympic's final qualifying series.
WNBL: Down to business ... soon
THE Opals jetted out to France unnecessarily early, adding Bendigo guard Tessa Lavey to the lineup following the severe ankle injury suffered on Thursday by Lightning captain Nicole Seekamp.
